Has anyone seen the 0-60mph acceleration measure?Īlso a good reason to wear my Pzero as fast as possible. My 21 RS5 in the US has 0-100km, not 0-60mph. And Throttle House youtube said use S1 to get full boost. In youtube videos its cool to see how it sits down when ready for launch.

I just hit 1k miles and eager to try launch control. While all I have written here was known to nearly everyone, maybe it will help one other person out there. So, now I am forced to buy a "Draggy" to see if it does what it feels like it is doing.

And, this thing bangs through the gears as though its life depended on it. Needles to say, launching from a dead stop is much more violent than launching from a slow roll. 3,000 rpm' just waiting to be released and allowed to do what it was created to do. FIRMLY holding the brake down for 1 second and then applying full throttle, the car sat perfectly still, not moving an inch, revving at approx.

Okay, so the next day assuming I knew what I had done wrong, I headed back out to test my theory. Isn't it a blessing to still get so excited over something? Tangent: By the way, this is a 62 year old man acting like a 5 year old boy. It took all I had not to run back out at 3:00am to test my theory, but somehow I managed to wait until the next day. Well, it did not take me long to realize I was simply not applying enough pressure to the brake pedal. I was doing this late at night so I would have the roads to myself, so I went home to think about what I was doing wrong. My second attempt yielded the same results. This forced me to abandon the launch, release the brake and settle for a "lesser" launch. The problem: As the car was approaching 3,000 rpm', the car started to very slowly roll forward. Yes, it did work, it did "launch" and it did accelerate quickly, but it was not what it should have been due to driver error. As a result, I was a bit tentative in my approach and as a result, my first two launches were not fully successful. I had used that time to make certain I knew how to properly use launch control, but I must admit, when the time actually came, I was somewhat apprehensive. Well, it was not easy to wait for 1,000 miles, but I did it, and now the gloves come off.
